Balboa Manufacturing is a California based designer and manufacturer of products and accessories for the motorcycle, power sports, outdoor, military and safety markets. Folio3 migrated Balboa’s three ASP.Net based ecommerce sites http://www.bobster.com/, ZANheadgear.com and http://www.balboamfg.com/ to SuiteCommerce Advanced, helping them integrate both their ecommerce and back office operations within the NetSuite ecosystem.

Balboa Manufacturing is a California based designer and manufacturer of products and accessories for the motorcycle, power sports, outdoor, military and safety markets.

Problem

Balboa operated three ecommerce sites which were based on ASP.Net. Their stores were old fashioned and not compatible with mobile devices. Since Balboa had recently shifted their ERP to NetSuite, they wanted to redesign and migrate these ecommerce sites to NetSuite’s SuiteCommerce Advanced platform, so that both their front and back office operations were tightly integrated within the same system.

Solution

Folio3 migrated all three of Balboa’s ecommerce storefronts http://www.bobster.com/, ZANheadgear.com and http://www.balboamfg.com/ to SuiteCommerce Advanced (Denali 2 version). Folio3 also redesigned each site from the ground up, with a completely new UI and UX; all within the span of eight months. The migration also included several customizations in SuiteCommerce Advanced, to incorporate functionality that is not provided in SuiteCommerce Advanced by default. These customizations include features such as:

  • Different home pages for logged in and guest users
  • A custom sign-up form with approval workflow
  • Back In Stock notifications
  • Become a Dealer feature
  • Approve Dealer Requests capability
  • Integration with a CMS (to manage the content of static pages on the sites)
  • Show Item ETA (if an item is marked Out Of Stock)
  • Request A Catalog
  • Newsletter subscription
  • Instagram integration

Result

The revamped SuiteCommerce Advanced web stores were extremely well received by Balboa’s customers and dealers. Having both their online sales and back office operations integrated within NetSuite has also enabled Balboa to reduce their order processing and fulfillment times by up to 30%.
